Default making money (Not a farming thread)

I've noticed some people have what I consider insane amounts of money. I've been playing regularly since May an all I have is 30k is there some kind of secert to getting the good drops is there a system which allows better drop chances with more playingu time? I go to underworld/FOW regulary but usually find not much more than what I do in shiverpeaks. Whats the deal with drops?

the "insane amount of money" ppl have is due to luck and/or farming. not much else I can say

my guess is , people solo farm , sell items to the right trador , merchent and correspondent trador give diferent amounts of money .. farming greens in sorrow then selling them to ebay players .. and yes ... the more you play , better chance to get good drops .. random is the key to luck , you need to play more if you think your drops sucs ... but we all know there is nothing beside cool looks that gold can do for you ... you dont need to farm to be good at this game ... but you already know that.

Most opposite, normally. The more you farm a place the worse drops get. That's all that's been proven so far on drop rates vs time.

The secret lies in the special-quality drops, most notably ectoplasms/shards and the gold items from chests. The rest, as you've noticed, is average enemy loot.

I've made all of my wealth through trading alone.

Yes, apparently there are quite a few number of players who despise traders and feel the need to point out this simple concept.

when you get something good, sell it on here, in the sell forum, you do ALOT better than selling in game, also if you can find a solo farming method that works for you, than go for it, if you are playing an area that is intended for 8 people, and you can do it by yourself, than you are making 8 times the amount of treasure, so it helps, i solo all the time, and i dont even go to underworld like most people, but i get a ton of stuff, my latest auction has been up on here for about 20 minutes, and i already have over 100k in bids

Maybe if you're selling golds that are over 100k+ each. Otherwise you'd make more ripping off uninformed players in game.

No, I don't have a problem with ripping someone off when trading and I freely admit it. You can only make money through trading by having more money, having more time, and being better informed than others.

With that being said, the majority of GWG readers are better informed than the average player and therefore it is more difficult to rip them off. For instance, have you seen a green on auction sell for higher than the listed price in the Green Price List in the Etc forum?

On the other hand, GWG readers have more money so it's easier to sell higher priced items here. Trying to find someone to pony up 300k for your HoD sword is a bit harder to do in game.

Solo farm, ebay, scam, run, these are the methods for getting cash.

Some of these paths have a future..some of them do not.

are you saying i can dodge griffons?

no, im saying when the time comes...you wont have to.

my monk gets naff all in drops so i made a warrior character and i have around 50k spare after getting to the dragons lair.

i'm sure the more damage you deal the more likely you are to get drops, or at least this is the way it's seemed for me.

I always have money problems... when I went through the game with my first character [Ranger] I pretty much had jack all dinero... I've been a bit more fortunate with my warrior though as I've found some pretty nice things. Still though, the max gold I've ever had has been around 17k.

I can't wait to go Griffon farming...

.. I might start running as well...

Does anyone know if there's a site somewhere out on teh_big-bad_Intarweb that is like a 'Stock Market' of GW with like the prices of the crafting materials and/or other items...

Would be neat if there was...

Thanks,

-Adam
